Description
This medium has a gel-like consistency, based on mastic resin and oil thickened in the presence of metal oxides. It fixes brushstrokes and increases gloss, transparency and depth of colour.
For maximum effect, mix 1:1 with oil paint to make colours richer and deeper, retaining an enamel-like glow when dry.
Perfect for transparent or semi-transparent colours.
It improves paint handling, since it makes oil colours ‘non-migratory’, allowing them to remain sharp and clear, standing out from the background. Mix into whites first for tints.
Use when you wish to work transparently especially when using the glazes.
